Who doesn't love a good macaroni and cheese?! It's the ultimate comfort food! I've been making Mac and cheese since I was a kid. My mom always made a great baked 5 cheese Mac and cheese and I've always been jealous of her talents. So you know I had to go and one up her and put together a very decadent 6 cheese baked macaroni and cheese to make hers feel a tiny bit inferior 😋. It's only fair...she's been showing me up in the Mac and cheese department for about 30 years! But hey Jyll, I'm about to share it so you can steal it...enjoy! Here's what you need:
Box of Velveta shells and cheese
1/2 cup of butter
Cup Shredded sharp cheddar
Cup Shredded Colby Jack
2 tablespoons of Goat Cheese
2 tablespoons Mascarpone
Sprinkle of Parmesan
Salt & Pepper to taste
Baked mac and cheese is pretty simple guys. Boil the shells in water for about 8 minutes, remember they will cook more in oven so do not over boil them. Then strain and put back into the pot. Add in butter and egg. The heat should melt down the butter, but be sure not to leave any chunks behind. Next add in your cheeses. They should melt down pretty easily as well.
Into the oven it goes at 350. 20-25 min should get the top golden brown. Feel free to sprinkle a little Parmesan on top once complete. You'll have the cheesiest Mac and cheese ever. Delicious!
Feel free to pay with your cheese amounts. I recommended that above but honestly, I don't measure anything exactly. I just taste and go!
