I've never had a large yard. Our new home sits on a little land, which my husband and I appreciate. When I have time I love to get out in the yard with him and the dogs and just enjoy nature...until a bee or a snake bursts my bubble...both of those things have happened, in fact Pharaoh was recently bitten in the face by a large water snake. What happened to the snake after that...well let's just say P didn't take that well and the snake...he's no longer with us. The cool part about the backyard is the way it's landscaped. When you step outside you're in a private oasis. My favorite part of the yard is the garden...funny I'm considering bulldozing it and building one heck of a pool, but while it's here it's dang amazing. Pear trees are currently flourishing and I'm considering starting on mint leaves and basil (while it's still here, may as well enjoy it!)
Many flowers grow wildly here. We are lucky enough to have Texas Blue Bonnets, which we are told you CANNOT pick. So we leave them be. Our fountain is one of my favorite things. If you're considering installing a fountain or water feature somewhere in your life...I approve. Nothing is as calming as the sound of trickling water. As a high intensity and unfortunately, a relatively stressed out woman in general, I just find water calming (another point for the pool :)
I just wanted to share some of this beauty because it would be a shame to keep it all to myself. I take no credit for this yard design. The folks that built this home did a fantastic job creating a place that I would one day calm my safe haven. I'm completely in awe of it and grateful for it. When I do make some changes I will share those as well.
And of course I wouldn't deprive you guys of the details of my garden-wear! The sleeveless cowl neck white top by Free People and my True Religion Jean crops finished off with Sam Edelman sandals. Light and breezy outfit worthy of a late afternoon frolic in nature!
